How do I get the original window sticker (Monroney Label) for my Porsche?

Use the following Window Sticker Tool to receive a 100% accurate digital copy of your original Porsche window sticker. It will provide a comprehensive breakdown of the trim level, packages, and/or options your car was originally equipped with.

To get a window decal, you need a VIN and a phone number to receive the PDF sticker link.

What do I need to get the window sticker?

To successfully use the WithClutch sticker tool, you will need the VIN (vehicle identification number), a string of 17 alphanumeric characters (numbers and capital letters). This unique code serves as an identifier for certain vehicle information such as year of production, type of engine, model, and other vehicle history records.

Where can you find the VIN for your Porsche?

The VIN for your Porsche can be found in two places.

  1. On the driver’s side doorjamb

  2. The left corner of the dashboard where it joins the windshield

You may also be able to find the VIN on:

  • Vehicle registration documents

  • Insurance cards

  • The steering wheel column

  • Vehicle service invoices

What’s the difference between a VIN decoder, Monroney Label, and Window Sticker?

A VIN decoder runs a VIN number through a verification process to obtain vehicle history information. After it's been verified, it provides the following details:

  • Model year, manufacturer, and production number

  • Current state/last state to title the vehicle

  • A record of applicable manufacturer recalls, warranty information, registration data and more

The United States requires that a Monroney Label aka window sticker is displayed on new vehicles. The stickers give buyers a sense of what features and options are included for a vehicle before purchasing it. In 2013 it was updated to include:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN)

  • Engine type

  • EPA fuel economy rating

  • Government safety rating

  • Manufacturer's suggested retail price

  • Standard options/add-on options and pricing information

  • Total vehicle price including add-ons

What key Information does the Porsche window sticker or VIN decoder provide?

A Monroney label lists the original standard options, as well as optional add-ons installed by the manufacturer or dealership. An example of a Porsche window sticker and a breakdown of what it details can be found below.

The top of the sticker lists:

  • The model year and name

    • 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

  • Vehicle information

    • VIN

    • Exterior/interior paint color

      • Lava Orange with black leather interior

    • Production month

      • 04/01/2016

    • Price

      • $251,660

The lower half of the sticker lists:

  • Additional equipment

    • Lava orange seat belts

    • Voice control system

    • Personalized carbon floor mats with leather trim

What are some key details to know about how Porsche describes packages and options?

Porsche AG is a German automotive company specializing in building and designing high-performance sports cars, SUVs, sedans, and coupes. Porsche’s current lineup includes the following vehicles:

  • Porsche 718

    • Boxster Model

    • Cayman Model

    • Spyder Model

  • Porsche 911

    • Carrera Model

    • Targa Model

    • Turbo Model

  • Porsche Cayenne

  • Porsche Macan

  • Porsche Panamera

  • Porsche Taycan

When it comes to luxury, Porsche is in a class of its own, being awarded the title of “the most prestigious automobile brand” by the Luxury Institute. As such, you can expect an all-around deluxe experience from a Porsche vehicle. The trim levels (a version of a vehicle model equipped with a fixed combination of features) that Porsche offers depend on the model itself.

For example, the all-electric Porsche Taycan is available in three different trims:

  1. Taycan 4S / $103,800

  2. Taycan Turbo / $150,900

  3. Taycan Turbo S / $185,000

From a starting MSRP of $103,800, the entry-level Porsche Taycan offers some of the highest standard performance features and finishes. As the price increases and the trim is upgraded, the Taycan 4S is equipped with even more deluxe features and performance configurations than the preceding trim.

Below are some of the performance metrics that distinguish the Taycan models:

  • Taycan 4S

    • 155 mph top track speed

    • 0-60 MPH in 3.8 seconds with Launch Control

    • 522 hp/390 kW engine

  • Taycan Turbo

    • 161 mph top track speed

    • 0-60 MPH in 3.0 seconds with Launch Control

    • 670 hp/500 kW engine

  • Taycan Turbo S

    • 161 mph top track speed

    • 0-60 MPH in 2.6 seconds with Launch Control

    • 750 hp/560 kW engine

What does the window sticker not provide?

Window stickers do not disclose dealership modifications of a vehicle or repairs/replacement of components applied by the manufacturer or other current/previous owners. Only standard equipment and options original to a new car are listed on the sticker.

The Monroney label does not provide records of the current condition or history of a vehicle, even if it was purchased through a dealership or a CPO (certified pre-owned) program. That information can be found by using services such as Carfax and Autocheck.

Additionally, since window stickers don't take into account natural wear and depreciation, the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) is not a good representation of the vehicle’s current value. As implied, the MSRP is a suggestion provided by automakers, and you may find a car sold for less when considering negotiations and discounts.

When does this Free Porsche Window Sticker Tool or VIN decoder not work?

The WithClutch window sticker tool can only produce stickers for vehicles that are 2013 Model Year and newer. In some cases, there may be other limitations that prevent you from using the sticker tool:

  • The VIN is not 17 characters long (applies to vehicles model year 1981 and older)

  • The VIN cannot be verified by certified techniques:

    • Checksum: The 9th digit of the VIN (limited to numbers 0-9 or the letter X) of US and Canadian vehicles is used to determine its validity

    • Illegal character check: Except for I, O, and Q, a VIN can include any alphanumeric character

  • Your vehicle is too new and has not been added to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) database
